Logos

Logos

It is such a hard thing to do, my original few have been too cluttered and after our friend Sara-h updated hers i felt like i needed to do mine. I have been playing around with many ideas over the last few months. What is my main focus? Coffee, whisky, Renovations, Cafe's or general crap. But being the philosophical kind of guy i am, i  decided to go my roots and think about what has kept me going since i was 14/15. Caffeine ( not just coffee) has helped me for a long time. I am not sure about this logo but it is less cluttered and i think my focus will still mainly be on coffee and Cafe's but my random crap will just fit in :)

I Realised that i did not actually explain my logo completely.
With the image i was trying to decide between my chemex / clever dripper or pour over.
The reason i had to use the pour over was because all the other items are too light..well glass is not a good option and i could not get the right shape for my image.

A boys Night out

A Boys night out

On Thursday night the wife had a work function., so my mate and i decided to have a night out.
First we decided to go to the city to get some whisky. We went to the  Whiskey & Alement. It had a huge selection of whiskeys, wines and beers. Becaue we are part of the Scotch Malt Whiskey Society, we get discounts on some of the whiskeys.

I had a Bowmore Cigar whisky and all i could taste was honey. It was so sweet. I am not used it that sort of sweetness. But it is always good to try something else/
After whiskey we went to the Nasi Lemak House. I had the Nasi Lemak and it was ok,

After dinner we went and had a cocktail at the

It was really hard so the pictures didn't turn out well. But only so much you can do with the lighting
Its was a nice chilled out night. Need to do it more often.

Thanks again
Kind regards

Richmond hill Lader + Whisky Rack

Richmond hill Larder + Whisky Rack

It has been very quiet at work recently, so the company I work at  allows me to do what I want when its quiet. I decided to make a whisky rack for my friend as he got me into whisky.

I had to bring my drop saw from home, I realised I shared photo's on snapchat so I don't have them saved .
First you get a pallet. then you work out how long you want it to be I made it 60cms long and 50cms high. Cut and nail...that simple

Then I spent two days chroming at work because stain stinks really bad.

I was happy with how it turned out, so I gave it to him yesterday for his birthday.

For Lunch we went to Richmond Hill Larder on Bride road. The coffee was pretty average but the food was good.

Angus Beef Burger
Bagel with bacon and egg

Eggs, mushrooms, beans and toast
Vegetarian risotto

We stopped at purvis beer on the way home and bought a range of Ale's, Stouts.
Our friend wanted the Rodenbach 2011 Vintage beer.

The flavours were amazing, sweet yet bitter. You could taste cherries, vinegar and a little bit of chocolate. It is meant to be drunk warm which I have never done. Its worth a try for something different.

It has been a lovely weekend, pretty chilled but pleasant.
Have a lovely day
