A few years ago Heston Blumenthal had a pop up restaurant called the Fat Duck, It was a lucky draw to get a reservation. The dinner was about $500 Aud per person and was around for a couple of months then once it was closed the kept the restaurant and called it Dinner by Heston. Our friends took us there for dinner and it was an awesome experience. Our table was just in front of the kitchen

I loved the We ate a selection of food from Kangaroo, to Wagyu beef and the famous Pineapple desert.
I can't wait to go back and enjoy and meal.

Second Wife

We had planned to go to Terror Twilight Collingwood on Sunday as we had been told it was very good, but plans changed and off we went to Second Wife in Boxhill. Its behind the Hospital in small court underneath some new apartments. Its a beautifully designed Cafe with a lovely mural on the wall.

They have a lovely menu and i decided to go for the Okonomiyaki Pancake which is a Japanese Cabbage Pancake, I am used to the massive ones you get normally but here you received 4 smaller ones but they looked very pretty.  They are juicy with a crispy outside and they have a lot of flavour. The smoked salmon added a bit of saltiness but worked together well.

Kim ordered a bowl that you design the way you want. The chicken was moist and the steamed vegetables were cooked perfectly.

The food was lovely and the coffee hit the spot. Its a great little brunch spot and if you are in Boxhill Head over and have a taste.

It's 4:30am and while  i supervise Iris as she decides what piece of technology i have to confiscate from her instead of playing with the 15 toys she has lying around i will try to do another Blog. Glen Waverley has really upped its game in the last year with a couple of Cafe's that do brunch and that do them well. You used to go to Glen Waverley for cheap asian meals and for a long time there was no good coffee but maybe thats how Gloria Jeans has survived. I'm not saying Gloria Jeans is great but it was really the only one around.

I have been to the other Workshop cafe's a few times and the coffee was awesome, this cafe' does not disappoint either as they do a range of coffees including the filter coffee. They make sweet espresso's, fruity filters and exceptional latte's. I had the chilli chicken waffle and it was not too spicy but the waffle was crispy on the outside and light on the inside. It was an awesome meal and we will go back.

Its worth a visit.

In the last few weeks we have been to a few new places but it so hard to find time to do a blog. While i have a moment i will try to finish it quickly.

 Little Ramen reminds me of Japan, you order outside the restaurant then you sit down and within about 10 minutes the food arrives. Its a cosy little place. I ordered the Garlic Shio Ramen  and it was the best Ramen we have had in ages, the eggs were perfectly cooked, hard on the outside and runny on the inside. The pork was thin and not much fat. It really reminded me of Japan with the flavours. The Gyoza had a crispy but very thin skin and the fried pork and vegetables are a perfect blend together. Its definitely worth a trip to it.

We love our Japanese and there is only a few stores we go to as we are fussy with what we get. We went to one in Hampton that was recommended to us.

The food is amazing and reminds me so much of Japan, if you get a chance to go here it is worth it.

Some of Kim's mothers group have been here a few times and the pics look amazing, the Cafe' is know locally for their awesome shakes and we decided we have to go check it out. A few weeks ago we decided to go on a Sunday. I decided to call and book because there was 4 of us and 2 babies. The waitress sounded surprised that we had called and booked as most people just turn up. When we arrived there was a queue of people waiting so i am glad we called. We still had to wait but only about 5 minutes which is not ad at all.

They had 3 sizes of shakes, Small, Medium and Large. I decided why not just get the large and Kim got the Medium. While ordering the meals the waitress suggested we get some fries to break up the sweetness but we decided not too. (Big Mistake)  Our drinks arrived and WOW they looked so cool and we dug into them.  They are super sweet but fun for something different, our meals arrived and they looked great as well.

I ordered the Breakfast burger which had an omelette, bacon, hash brown in the middle with BBQ sauce and it was sweet as well. After our meal we had to go for a long walk as we felt sick from so much sugar. We went to a variety store on the other side of the shop called Uncle bucks and we  bought lots of random stuff.
