3 Months Already

3 Months Already

I can't believe 3 months have gone past already and how much their personality's change. They know what they want and they know how to get it.  They scream from the top of their lungs and as soon as they see you they laugh. We are so lucky how Iris is sleeping from 8 hours to nearly 11 hours over night, so she gets  so much more sleep than we do. She is nearly 6kgs which we are ecstatic about and I can't wait for her to start eating solid food but we have another 2 / 3 months before that happens.

I have finally realised how short life is and how quickly time flies, before we had her we had so much time and i never understood what other parents mean when they say time is short enjoy them and take as many pics as you can. I have been working on this post for nearly 2 weeks because nights are a right off and as i quickly finish this at work before it gets too busy.

A Quick Getaway

A Quick Getaway

We had planned this getaway a few weeks ago and we chose the long scenic route to Adelaide via the great ocean road. Directly it is about 800kms (500 miles) but the path we took was about 1200Kms (800 miles). Every time we head to Adelaide or Halls gap it rains and it bucked down like last time.  We left on Sunday morning and started our journey. We got a beautiful filter coffee at Cartel in the city of Geelong before continuing our journey as we had 6 hours of driving ahead.

We stopped at the lighthouse from the T.V series Round the twist which I have never watched but wanted to actually go to.

The next stop was at the 12 apostles to have a quick look at what had changed and there were a few less than last time but still lovely to see even though it was raining.

A bit further down the road I have seen Instagram photos of this place Lock and George. Kim thought it was called Lock ard Gorge and she was right, I had been saying it wrong for a long time.

We got to our accommodation late and just had local food. The next day we set off to go to Victor Harbor and we had been told to go to the sinkhole in Umpherston .On the way to the sinkhole we went past a sign that said caves? why not drive to have a look?

Do you see anything random?

The caves viewing time would take too long otherwise we would have had a look but it was a beautiful drive down a long road with pine trees all the way across. The Sinkhole was large but they had made it look very pretty.

Next stop was the Big Lobster and the pics looked amazing online. You know when you see pics on google maps then get there and can't stop laughing well this was the same thing.

but what we got was...

It looked like an extra part from X-files, it was sad to see it. We then headed to victor harbor but it was another 4 hours of terrible heavy rain, darkness and crazy trucks. It was pitch black in Victor Harbor but the next day was slightly better.
This was the view from the top of the hill above the accommodation.

We then went to granite island and did more touristy things.

On the way to the Halls gap we stopped at a few wineries and olive groves.

We went to the zoo and got up really close to a cheetah. It purred so softly and it makes you think that such a dangerous animal has such a soft side.

We saw lots of random beautiful animals and it was worth the visit.

It was an amazing trip that we have wanted to do for 8 years, since I have started my new job life has gotten hectic but I will try and update a bit more. Awesome news to come soon but wait for it.
Sorry about the delays
Thanks for reading.

Getting back to life.

Getting back to life.

As I get towards the last week of work this cloud has lifted and I feel like a new person, my attitude and sense of humor has come back and I feel that I can now return back to blogging. Next week we will be going away for a few days before I start at the new company.
We have been on the hunt for waffles recently and I came across this place in Oakleigh called Pagoto. Its mainly a gelato place but i saw pics on Instagram and it looked amazing. It opens at 12pm and closes late so we went in for lunch. It was fairly quiet when we arrived and the two girls serving behind the counter seemed fairly relaxed until we ordered 9 waffles and a bunch of crazyshakes. They did a great job at serving our food with having to serve gelato at the same time.

You could choose any gelato flavor and they had a awesome range. The waffles are large but the batter was light and sweet inside yet slight crispy on the outside. They had random flavors of the crazy shakes.

We had so much sugar I almost had an overdose. We loved it so much we went a week later and got gelato and coffee. The coffee is smooth and has great flavor which is not what I expected.

We will go back as we had a great time.

Enjoying Free Time

Enjoying Free Time
A couple of months ago i came across a blog as i do randomly and he is a photographer His name is Jeff . I really liked what he did and especially like the photos of a water and wanted to achieve the same thing. After reading his blog i ordered a Circular Polarizer filter. My filter arrived today and  I don't often get a chance to go out after work and enjoy the weather but today was a perfect day. I finished work at 4:30 went home grabbed my camera and went straight to the beach. The temperature was 99F with a cool breeze. I also remembered when my friend gave me his camera he gave me a spare lens so i took that with me to play around with it. The Circular Polarizer filter (CPL) removes the glare and gives you a sharper picture.

I had some photos from last week that i had not put up yet so i decided to load them up as well.

Which photo do you like? I love the Sausage dog one
I hope these brighten up your day.
Kind Regards
