Grinders Coffee

Grinders Coffee

As you know i love trying different beans and i was in the local shop and it had Grinders Coffee half price. I normally don't buy Grinders because its hard to find a Cafe' that can make it well. I could not help myself so i bought a bag. I made a few cups and it was not great, but then our Coffee machine seal broke. I took the shower screen off (metal piece where the group goes into) It was so full of coffee. I gave the screen a great clean and replaced the seal. Because the shower screen was clean the correct amount of water can go through it properly suddenly the crema almost doubled and the coffee was great. It was very smooth,  if you have not cleaned it i would highly recommend it. That can improve the taste and pour rate.

Have you had grinder?

Cote Terra Coffee Cupping

Cote Terra Coffee Cupping

As Iris get older my nights go quicker and a week feels like a few days, so i thought i did the cupping a few days ago but it was actually last Tuesday.  Last Monday i got an invitation to go to a coffee cupping session in Oakleigh on Tuesday night and i could not miss it. There was about 50 people all in the industry except for Tess and myself. I love meeting new people and hearing their stories about the industry. It was great fun exchanging pics of Latte art. I met people from Axil Roaster, Nathan from Cartel Roaster and caught up with old friends.

We got to try a lot of the coffees in this auction.

After the Gesha Coffee cupping we got to try coffee from Yemen and India.
I have never tried so many amazing coffee's from around the world and felt special and lucky to be one of the few that was there on the night.
Many thanks to Joel at Cote Terra, Nathan from Cartel Roasters and a special thanks to Tess for the invitation fro TessPresso.
I hope there are more to come in the future.

Auction Room Harold Pajoy

Auction Room Harold Pajoy

Google is amazing, it told me i have not been to Auction room since 2015. Its crazy that it knows exactly when, where and how long you go to places. I was going past so i dropped in for a quick coffee and to get beans for filter. I have not done any filter coffee's in a while so i felt like i needed to make some more.

I had an amazing latte, it was so fruity and light.
The beans i got are from La Plata in Columbia, the Altitude is about 1200M - 1500M ASL which means it should have the citrus and chocolaty flavours.

This morning i made a Pour Over, it was good but not amazing so i need to adjust the grind.

It finished pouring at 2Min 30 sec which is too quick but it was still good. I get to start playing around with the grind and i will keep you updated on progress.

Tokyo Kitchen Sakae

Tokyo Kitchen Sakae

We love our Japanese and there is only a few stores we go to as we are fussy with what we get. We went to one in Hampton that was recommended to us.

The food is amazing and reminds me so much of Japan, if you get a chance to go here it is worth it.
