We have been to a few beautiful restaurants in the last few months, I have just had so little  time to do  any blogs ,which has been sad as i enjoy going out and  having a few laughs and taking some pics. It was in March i think where we decided to go out with friends but one of them is a Celiac ( Gluten intolerant). I searched a lot of Cafe's and decided Hawk & Hunter seemed the best place with great coffee.

Its a beautiful Cafe' that is open and light. The Decor' was interesting and enough of it to keep our daughter occupied.

I had the 48hr cooked Lamb , it was beautiful and the meat fell apart. It was not too sweet and the eggs are amazing.
The food is presented well,  the staff were great and the coffee was amazing. We will be back again.

The other day it was a public holiday and we wanted to catch up with friends for Lunch so we went to Glen Waverley and we had some spare time so we decided to get coffee from Black Flat Coffee Brewers. They had been closed for the day but a young lady working for Platform 7 gave us some cards to try there coffee.  I was not sure but thought free coffee why not? So we went and had it. Kim had a Soy Latte and i had a short black, The coffee they use is Code Black which is generally good.

It has a rustic / industrial feel to the place and a beautiful sign on the wall.

We really enjoyed the coffee and though we should come back and try the food. A couple of nights later we went back to get a meal, you get to sit in the back section which is nice and quiet.

I have eaten a lot of Pulled pork recently so i decided spend more money than usual and get the Maple Bourbon Ribs and it looked small to me but there was a huge amount of meat, It fell apart as you ate it and was sweet. The salad was fresh, the potato salad was creamy.

Kim got the Crab Gnocchi which had crab, prawns a macadamia crumble. It was not dry and the seafood tasted fresh, It looked beautiful and we would go back for it. We got some coffee takeaway as well.

Zest Composition VII

I have finally got to crack open this beautiful bag of Ethiopian and Kenyan mix of beans i got at M.I.C.E. the other weekend and O.M.G it smells awesome.  I was waiting to finish my other bag first but now thats done i will be drinking short blacks this week.

I may have gone overboard with the amounts of coffee i consumed the other day but with beautiful crema and a dark rich colour i could not help myself. The aroma as your poured it was sweet smelling and the taste was citrus like lemons, oranges peach an mangoes.
I love it and would be happy to get more.

Mice 2017

For my birthday i was given two tickets to go to the Melbourne International Coffee Expo 2017 and i had always wanted to go but hadn't had the time. This year was different and i was really excited about it.

 The awesome thing was i got to do some cupping and it has been years. I love cupping because you get to try so many different beans and flavours always vary so much.

We met some amazing people and saw some great new products, We have the Frei Press below which is a mixture of an Aeropress / Plunger.

 Iris loved Jibbi and her Jug,  Jibbi is famous for her amazing latte art skills. She has designed a jug to help you  practice and improve with your latte art skills. There is free delivery on purchases in Australia at the moment so get in quick.  Check out her products here and grab some coffee while on her website.

There was so much coffee available to try from plenty of suppliers. I lost count of how many coffees i had but all i know was it was a lot of fun. I wanted to watch the Latte art competition but it was hard with a 6 month old baby, Hopefully next year i will be able to watch it.
